I'm a wedding, elopement, and engagement photographer specializing in storytelling and true to life photography!
This was my first time visiting Washington State and shooting an Olympic National Park Engagement Session! It was a quick trip as I was there less than 24 hours, but I fell in love. I have seen a lot of beautiful places, but experiencing the Pacific Northwest for the first time is so special. When I came home and immediately told my husband we needed to plan a trip to explore.
I highly recommend booking a destination engagement session; it’s the perfect excuse for a getaway or a beautiful road trip!
Lexi and Austin are one of my 2023 fall wedding couples! They live in Washington but are getting married in Phoenix, and it only made sense to do an engagement session in both places. When Lexi and I got on the phone for the first time, we hit it off immediately. I was so excited to hear that they wanted to book me for their wedding!!! I was even more excited when I booked my flight to Seattle to meet them for the first time and document their love in some epic locations.
The first location we stopped at was incredible. Quinalt Rainforest is a little over 2.5 hours from Seattle, and the drive is so beautiful. Word of advice if you’re making this drive for the first time, have lots of snacks on hand and use the bathroom in Aberdeen because once you drive past this town you’re in the middle of nowhere!
When I pulled into the parking lot of the location we were going to shoot at, I was in awe! To see trees that tall and so many of them is incredible. Lexi and Austin hadn’t been to this spot either, and it was so fun getting to explore with them and experience something new! We started on the trail and kept walking, stopping along the path to take photos. We walked a little and then saw the trail open up, so we kept walking and stumbled upon a gorgeous lake! So of course we took photos there also.
On our way to the second location, we passed by a campground where the Tree of Life is. Lexi and Austin asked if we could take a couple photos there, and of course, I was on board for that! So we turned around and headed back to the campground to walk down to the beach where the tree was. You have to see the photos to see what the hype is about, it’s incredible.
These two wanted to shoot at two locations, which I love because this adds variety to your gallery! We both agreed that a beach location captures the beauty and essence of the PNW. While researching beaches in the area, I kept stumbling upon Ruby Beach. When I told Lexi I thought this would be a great spot, she told me it was on their bucket list! We all three got to mark this spot off our lists!
We pulled into the parking lot, and I fell in love instantly! This beach is breathtaking, and I think anyone who has been there will say the same thing. I can’t recommend visiting this beach enough.
