Everything about this night was so perfect! I love seeing a vision brought to life, and this Modern Western Micro Wedding exceeded expectations.
If you’ve ever wondered how to elevate a backyard micro wedding, then you’re in the right place! From details in the signage to a cigar bar, there was no detail missed. Wildflowers and an Arizona superbloom inspired this evening, and it came together perfectly thanks to some amazing wedding vendors!
How To Elevate A Backyard Wedding
If you’re having a small backyard wedding, or keeping it intimate at a venue then you may be wondering how to make it feel more luxe? Here are some ways you can achieve this…
- Put thought into every detail. From drink menu, guestbook, wedding cake, etc. This doesn’t have to mean more expense, paying attention to details make things look elevated.
- Don’t skip out on flowers! If you don’t have a huge budget for flowers I’ll let you in on a little secret… Trader Joe’s. I have so much respect for florists and 10/10 recommend hiring one. However, if you’re having a micro wedding or backyard reception then you can easily DIY your flowers. These bud vases from Amazon are my absolute favorite and so pretty. Bud vases and wildflowers always look good together, and dress up every table!
- Include things that you love! If you’re a whiskey and cigar lover then this cigar bar would be perfect for your wedding day. If you love to play corn hole together as a couple, have a set up for your guests to join in on a game.
Modern Western Micro Wedding Signage Ideas
I am obsessed with wedding signage. From “Unplugged Ceremony” signs, to bar menus, to drink tags, I couldn’t love them anymore than I do. Aster and Palm is one of my favorite wedding vendors ever. Taylor is so creative and can bring any vision to life! Check out these drink tags, I mean how perfect are these?! The custom place cards and rattan table numbers are the icing on the cake for a perfect tablescape.
Don’t Neglect The Bar
Whether you’re serving alcohol or not, you NEED Liquid Caterers at your wedding. Even if you’re having only 8 guests, they will love the drinks that Liquid Caterers create! From mocktails to mimosas, they can do it all and make it the prettiest drink you have ever had!
Another fun bar idea is having a cigar bar. This is something that’s easily attainable too!
The Rentals
I can’t recommend I Do Rentals and Material Girls Weddings enough! Their rental inventory is so good, and they have so many options. If you’re looking for a beautiful arch, tables, a bar, chairs, etc. I Do Rentals has you covered! For all your tabletop and decor needs, Material Girls Weddings is your go to!

Last But Definitely Not Least… The Cake!
Just because you’re having a small wedding doesn’t mean you have to skip out on the cake… I am a firm believer that cake should be at every function! This chocolate cake decorated in wildflowers from aBakeshop, was not only the cutest thing I’d ever seen, but it was absolutely delicious. They’re on my recommended vendor list for sure!
