It’s inevitable whenever I hear a good love song, I immediately get in my feels. There’s so much power in music, and creating a wedding day playlist is the best way to set the tone of your day. From getting ready moments, to walking down the aisle, to the one you’ll have your first dance to – I have compiled a list of some of my favorite songs!

Wedding Day Playlist

Songs To Listen To While Getting Ready!

In 2017 I married my husband in Pensacola, Fl. We eloped just the two of us and it was the most simple and laidback “wedding day”. I got ready in a hotel room by myself and wanted to make it as exciting as possible! Before the “big day” I sat down and created a getting ready playlist that I listened to while doing my hair and makeup. It was one of the best decisions I ever made, it set the tone for the day and got me so excited to run off to the courthouse lol!

Skip ahead 5 years- my husband and I had an “elopement redo” on the island of Oahu. We got ready separately, but both listened to the same playlist while getting ready! The night before our elopement, we added songs to a playlist to play while getting ready. We now listen to this playlist often; it’s full of some of our favorite songs. I added my original getting-ready playlist to the new one, and it was so nostalgic!

Here are some go-to getting-ready songs to listen to on your wedding day…

  1. Chapel Of Love by The Dixie Cups
  2. I Do by Colbie Caillat
  3. I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston
  4. You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne
  5. Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond
  6. Rythym of Love by Plain White T’s
  7. Today by Willamette Stone
  8. Love On Top by Beyoncé
  9. Man, I Feel Like a Woman by Shania Twain
  10. You Make My Dreams by Daryl Hall & John Oates

Wedding Day Playlist Songs To Walk Down The Aisle To

I have heard so many incredible processional songs, and each time the music starts- and the bride enters into view, I get emotional. The emotions and excitement are at an all-time high, and the music playing adds to the feeling.

Before the bride enters, the groom, the parents, and the bridal party will walk down the aisle! Here are some of my favorite song ideas for this moment…

Wedding Day Playlist – Don’t Skimp On The DJ

Let me tell ya friends, your wedding DJ is important! A good DJ knows how to set the tone for each event. They know what songs to play to get the party going and what songs keep everyone on the dance floor. If you want your reception to be a party, and if music and dancing is important to you, then you want to invest in someone who has raving reviews!
