The Superstition Mountains offer a perfect setting for your micro wedding in Arizona. At the base of The Superstition Mountains just east of Mesa, AZ. Kristen and Jaime exchanged vows in a micro wedding ceremony. These two chose intimacy over extravagance, and a micro wedding that celebrated their love in the most romantic way possible.

Getting Ready For Their Intimate Wedding

The Casita, a hidden gem with rustic charm, set the stage for a day filled with love, laughter, and the promise of a lifetime together. Kristen and Jaime got ready for the exchange of their vows, surrounded by their closest family members. The precious Airbnb that housed everyone for the day was perfect. It made a wonderful place to get ready, exchange handwritten letters, and celebrate their love with family.

As they got ready for the ceremony, the air was filled with excitement and anticipation. The intimacy of the setting allowed for meaningful interactions and shared moments with their family, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere that would set the tone for the evening. These two exude a laid-back and easy-going energy, creating a very relaxed wedding day vibe.

The Details Included In Their Day

Wedding details are one of my favorite things to capture. The thoughtfulness behind them is something I love hearing about. Often, couples think just because they’re having a micro wedding, they miss out on the details such as invitations, wedding favors, etc., however, that’s not the case! Jaime and Kristen incorporated many sweet details into their day, here are a few of my favorites.

  • Cookies and Wedding Favors – I love a good sugar cookie, especially when it features adorable decorations! The wedding day themed cookies and favors for their guests were a hit in my book. Tiny succulents represented their desert wedding, and snack boxes ensured that their guests were fed and felt appreciated for traveling to celebrate their nuptials
  • Wedding Dress Hanger – This is one of those details that is a crowd favorite. Hanging your wedding dress on a personalized hanger elevates your wedding photos, and it’s something you can cherish forever!
  • Ceremony Benches and Platform – This is my favorite detail from this wedding. These two decided instead of renting their ceremony seating, they were going to build it. Consequently, they embarked on a creative DIY project to personalize their wedding ceremony. When I first talked to Kristen on the phone she told me how the ceremony spot featured a fire pit exactly where they wanted to exchange vows. Since this was less than ideal for the visual appeal, I suggested finding a platform to cover the pit. Well Jaime opted to make it and it came out perfect!

Before The Ceremony

Before the couple and their families headed to the ceremony location, they chose to incorporate a few intimate moments and details. Additionally, this added a special touch to the overall wedding experience. Kristen wanted a first look with her dad, which are always loved. It’s a tender moment between a bride and her father; parents always appreciate being included! Next, the two opted to do a first touch and exchange personal letters instead of a first look. First touches are a great alternative to a first look. Couples still get an intimate moment together as well as a grand moment during the ceremony.

The Ceremony

Surrounded by the love of their closest family members, the couple exchanged rings and promises, their joyous smiles illuminated by the soft, golden light of the setting sun. The wedding ceremony took place inside Lost Dutchman State Park. The spot where they exchanged their vows was stunning. It was a chilly night; the wind was brisk, the blankets the couple provided for their family members were perfect to keep everyone cozy during the ceremony.

The love from their family to the happy couple was tangible. The love and vows exchanged between Kristen and Jaime were perfect, and the setting made it feel so sacred.

The Bride and Groom Photos

After the ceremony and in-between the couple and their family having a celebratory dinner together, we headed closer to the base of the mountains and took their bride and groom photos. The sunset on this evening was spectacular. Even though we were chilled to the bone, the excitement of becoming husband and wife was electric.
