What to pack for your wedding detail photos is one of the simplest ways to make your gallery feel cohesive and intentional from the very first frame. When you look back on your wedding gallery years from now, some of the most meaningful photos won’t just be the portraits or the party, they’ll be the quiet, intentional details that tell the story of your day.
From your invitation suite to your perfume bottle, each item represents a piece of your story. That’s why preparing these details before your photographer and videographer arrive helps ensure nothing is missed and gives your media team the space to create beautiful, editorial-style flat lays that feel personal and cohesive.

Detail photos set the tone for your entire wedding gallery. They’re the first images in your collection, the ones that tie your design, stationery, florals, and attire together.
They serve as the opening to your visual story, a chapter that introduces your aesthetic before the ceremony even begins. When styled intentionally, these images can look like pages from a magazine spread, highlighting the textures, tones, and heirlooms that made your day uniquely yours!

As a wedding photographer, I have learned what makes things easier for everyone whose part of the day, this is one of those things! To make sure your photographer has everything they need, gather these items in one box or tote before your wedding morning. Label it “Details” and keep it somewhere easy to find, like your getting-ready suite!
Here’s what to include:

The easiest way to avoid stress the morning of your wedding is to have everything pre-packed. A small box or tote works perfectly! Tell your planner, mom, or maid of honor where it’s located so they can hand it to your photographer as soon as they arrive.
This saves time, and allows your photographer to start creating styled, editorial-quality flat lays immediately!
Your wedding morning should feel calm and effortless, and preparing these items ahead of time ensures it does. Detail photos aren’t just filler images; they’re the tangible pieces of your story that bring everything full circle.
From your rings to your perfume, each item deserves to be documented beautifully. These small details are the foundation of your legacy imagery and the heirlooms you’ll one day show your children.
